Hello! It has been way too long since I blogged on this site. I haven’t been active on here at all, really. One of my biggest goals for the year is to change that, though, so here I am! My plan is to share a blog post at least a couple times a month, covering all sorts of bookish/reading/writing topics. Maybe a sprinkle of lifestyle here and there, too. With Valentine’s Day this weekend, I figured I would let you all know my top recommendations for adult romance novels! I’m happy (and a bit surprised) to say they are all from different authors! They are all strictly adult romances, or romantic dramas.
5. All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover
This story feels very real in reflecting modern marriage, though personally I don’t condone some of the events that take place. Nevertheless, I grew to love the characters for how raw and vulnerable they both are. It’s an emotional book that kept me turning the page. If you’re a fan of clean romance, though, I wouldn’t recommend.
4. Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson
Ahh. The book that has wrecked me more than any other. James Patterson has always been a favorite author of mine for crime thrillers/mystery, so naturally I had to read some of his romances as well. Worth it? 100%. This novel is one of the most heart-wrenching love stories out there, but it’s so beautifully done it makes the buckets of tears worth it.
3. The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks
People might know this for the movie, but the book (as almost always) is way better! It’s basically a two-for-one novel since you have the love story of the major characters as teenagers interspersed with the flame that burns on a chance encounter years down the road. As with most Nicholas Sparks’ books, you’ll need a tissue.
2. Something Blue by Emily Giffin
Emily Giffin is one of my favorite writers, especially of romance! Her books are lighthearted and fun while still getting deep messages across, and the sequel to Something Borrowed is no exception! It is, hands down, better than the first novel. The character development is amazing, the setting is amazing, and I always love a good pregnancy story, too. This is a great cozy read.
1. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
I’ll be honest, it took me a while to pick up this book and read it. I just didn’t think I would like it! I borrowed it from the library because the name interested me (hi I have a degree in mathematics) but I kept having to renew it since I wasn’t even starting. My mistake! To date, this is my favorite romance book ever. It’s hilarious and charming, and I fully relate to the nerdy and awkward side of it.
Have you read any of these adult romance books? How did you like them? If you haven’t read them, do yourself a favor and check them out!
